A Game Changer Indeed:
JDR Trochilus Harmonica
What is the Trochilus harmonica?
At its core, the Trochilus is a different-tuned 10-hole harmonica(Richter/Solo/Pop). Like a chromatic harmonica (e.g. Hohner 270 or CX12), pressing the slide allows you to jump up by a semitone (half step) — but unlike traditional chromatic, it has an innovative narrow-slot design which means it maintains all the bendability of a diatonic.

New design, new experience, new track
The Trochilus is a ten-hole chromatic harmonica that took more than two years to develop.
It not only makes bending and overblowing easier than on a traditional 10-hole harmonica, but also eliminates the valve-related issues commonly found in chromatic harmonicas.
What is the difference between JDR Trochilus Pop Tuning and Trochilus Richter Tuning?
The Pop Trochilus comes equipped with all chromatic half-steps built right in, making it the ideal choice for pop music performances. The Blues Trochilus follows the classic standard 10-hole diatonic tuning, perfectly tailored for blues play. Even so, several individual notes still require bending to achieve the signature blues tones.
A New Way To Play Blues Harmonica
Phosphor bronze
reed without valve
The Trochilus harmonica's blow and draw reeds are arranged in the same up-and-down arrangement as a traditional blues harmonica with no valve obstruction.

Traprzoldal shaped comb
The shape of the comb is a trapezoid design, with a short tail and ergonomic design making it more comfortable to hold.
Portable size
The Trochilus harmonica is only ½ the size of the chromatic harmonica and has a complete range.

Smooth slider and square comb
The mouthpiece has a square structure, providing greater intake space to increase the volume of the harmonica.
