Beautiful, crisp, heavy, and LOUD...

Just received my Evolution yesterday. What a beautiful harmonica! The aluminum comb makes this one heavy and sturdy like a Mars with an aluminum comb. I'm partial to round holes, so I had that transitional learning curve to overcome. Once I could riff with this, the notes are LOUD and crisp, producing more in the fine frequencies on the high end. unlike my Mars, the Evolution needs considerably less air to sing. The notes are crisp, so this harp works best for those screaming solos over mellow accompanyment. Bends well OOTB. I got one upper note to OB too. Very impressed, especially for the price. Compared to the rest of my metal comed harps (including the ones I custom built), the JDR Evolution is definitely toward the top of the list.

I love it

I love it. The comb is a nice size, and the reed covers keep my mustache from getting caught. I also like the body of the comb. I recently purchased several steel body harmonicas and metal body harmonicas, and I was really, really impressed with these. I’ll be ordering more.
