Ross Garren

ROSS GARREN is a harmonica player, keyboardist, and composer.

He contributed to Ludwig Göransson’s score for Sinners, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack. He also transcribed and recorded the harmonica parts for the A Complete Unknown biopic.

Garren studied jazz piano and classical composition at University of Southern California. After a long break from the instrument, he rediscovered his passion for the harmonica while working as a freelance pianist and composer.

Since then, Garren has contributed to film and television scores by composers including Robbie Robertson, Hans Zimmer, Marco Beltrami, and John Powell.

He has also been the harmonicist for artists including Bon Iver, Kesha, Ben Folds, and Beyoncé, whose album Cowboy Carter won the Grammy for Album of the Year.

Garren is also the touring harmonica player for the legendary blues-rock band Hot Tuna. He currently lives in Southern California.
