Responsive, Airtightness, Rich Sound.

Quartz keeps the inner valves and a compromised asymmetrical reed adjustment technique to maintain a playing experience with a normal valved chromatic harmonica.

As a result, the Quartz has no “sticky valve” problem, and could be used to get the bending notes and tones like a diatonic harmonica.

Let's enjoy- JDR Quartz chromatic harmonica jazz!

Q2: What’s the difference between this half-valve model and full-valve chromatic harmonicas? Can I do bending notes on it?

Unlike traditional full-valve harmonicas that install valves on both inner and outer reed plate, this Quartz only keeps inner valves and removes partial outer valves. We optimized reed gaps with new craftsmanship to maintain nearly identical air intake/outtake performance as full-valve versions. The biggest advantage is it completely avoids the annoying sticky valve issue common on full-valve harmonicas, and it supports smooth bending techniques just like a diatonic harmonica for richer blues and pop tones.

Q3: What accessories come with the harmonica? Does it include a storage case?

The full package contains: 1 x JDR Quartz C key chromatic harmonica, 1 x durable hard protective case, 1 x lint-free cleaning cloth, plus an exquisite color outer package. All essential daily storage and maintenance tools are included; no extra accessories need to be purchased separately.

Q4: What’s the size and weight of this harmonica? Is it pocket-friendly to carry around?

Its dimensions are 15.9 x 3 x 4.5 cm (6.25 x 1.77 x 1.18 inches), and it weighs only about 255g (0.56lb). The compact lightweight body fits easily into jacket pockets, backpacks or instrument bags, ideal for outdoor practice, band rehearsals, travel and live street performances. The ABS resin comb is lightweight yet sturdy for long-time holding without fatigue.

Q5: What accessories come with this harmonica package?

The full package contains a  harmonica, a premium decorative case, a dust cloth and a user introduction manual. All accessories are standard and complete for daily use and storage

Q6: What is the after-sales service and warranty policy of this JDR harmonica?

Customers can enjoy one-year  warranty. The brand promises to reply to customer inquiry emails within 24 hours for after-sales support.

Really nice bending and tone

Really nice bending and tone. I like the rounded mouthpiece and smooth action. Please offer this harmonica in other keys.

A joy to play

This a very well made harmonica. Highly responsive with a really nice slide action. Not immune to a bit of valve sticking, but much less than other chromatics I’ve used. Proper bends on each D and A. Definitely my current favourite.

A Kind Chromatic Harmonica

I have recently begun experimenting with the JDR Quartz chromatic harmonica. Designed as a half?valved chromatic, it is equipped with a complete set of windsavers on all blow reeds, with only three windsavers applied to the draw reeds. This configuration delivers distinctive performance characteristics: it supports diatonic?style draw bending while retaining the blow?bend functionality of a standard chromatic harmonica. It produces a loud output, maintains excellent airtight performance, and its slider operates very smoothly.

First impression is a good one! Beautifully built

First impression is a good one! Beautifully built, feels rugged, mouthpiece is very comfortable and the sound is clear and plenty loud. I’m starting from scratch on chromatic (again!) but I will say I really like it! Even the simple noodling I’m attempting on it. I think I will be more inclined to practice with an instrument that plays so easily!
